The group THE KINGDOM is preparing to mark a historic pause. After an official announcement from GF ENTERTAINMENT, the 6 members will begin a suspension of their collective activities following their next Fan-Con.
The announcement resounded strongly on the official platforms: after the Fan-Con “THE QUINQUENNIUM” scheduled for February 28, 2026 at H-Stage in Seoul, THE KINGDOM will temporarily suspend its group activities. This concert, whose name celebrates the symbolic fifth anniversary of the group’s universe, will be an opportunity for the members and the fans (KingMakers) to meet one last time before a prolonged separation. The agency expressed a deep sense of responsibility in delivering this news, asking for the fans’ understanding in the face of this inevitable transition.
The reason behind this hiatus is clear and solemn: all the members of THE KINGDOM plan to enlist for their mandatory military service by the end of 2026. This group decision, rare in the industry, aims to minimize the overall period of absence by carrying out their civic duty almost simultaneously. The leader DANN had already paved the way by enlisting preemptively on September 9, 2025, leaving the group to continue its activities with five members for a few months before this final announcement.
While the specific enlistment dates will be communicated gradually, GF ENTERTAINMENT specified that the members will focus on individual activities for the time they have left before their departure. It is an opportunity for each “King” to explore solo projects, whether in music, acting, or entertainment, while preparing the ground for their future return. The agency promised to fully support these personal paths in order to keep the bond alive with their community.
Since its debut in 2021, THE KINGDOM has revolutionized the visual concepts of K-Pop with its series “HISTORY OF KINGDOM”, where each member represented a sovereign throughout history. Although the group went through lineup changes, notably with the departure of CHIWOO and the arrival and departure of HWON, they maintained a unique narrative identity. This hiatus is not an end, but the closing of an epic chapter before a rebirth already promised by the agency.
