YG ENTERTAINMENT unveiled on February 13 a new teaser for “2026 YG SPECIAL AUDITION : GO! DEBUT”, further reigniting enthusiasm around its global project to discover new talent.
The video contains images of the different groups produced by YG ENTERTAINMENT, BIGBANG, 2NE1, WINNER, BLACKPINK, TREASURE, and BABYMONSTER during their trainee days, drawing attention. Although the reasons that pushed them to dream of becoming artists at YG ENTERTAINMENT, as well as their resolutions and ambitions, differ, they are all based on admiration for their seniors and firm trust in the agency, which has established itself through “talent.”
This point offers a glimpse of the fundamental qualities sought by YG ENTERTAINMENT in its artists and the priority given to training stars. This audition is attracting particular attention because executive producer Yang Hyun Seok will participate directly from the first stage of the selections. The aim is to intuitively judge the candidates’ potential through his unique perspective, rather than evaluating them only on files or references.
YG ENTERTAINMENT has so far revealed numerous global stars such as BIGBANG, BLACKPINK, and 2NE1 thanks to this casting philosophy. The company stated: “This audition will focus only on talent and star potential, executive producer Yang Hyun Seok will personally check the candidates’ possibilities from the start to discover the protagonists of the next generation,” adding: “Become the new faces who will build the future with YG.”
Meanwhile, applications for “2026 YG SPECIAL AUDITION : GO! DEBUT” are open until February 28 through YG ENTERTAINMENT’s audition website or the QR code shown on the poster. Anyone born between 2007 and 2015 may apply regardless of gender or nationality, by choosing a field among singing, rap, dance, visual, or talent, and submitting a video under one minute.
