ERIC NAM
Between Scottish paranoia and survival strategies, ERIC NAM looks back on his wildest television adventure in a special episode of the “DAEBAK SHOW”.

It was a relieved yet still slightly shaken ERIC NAM who took the microphone on the “DAEBAK SHOW”. In this exceptional episode, the artist not only breaks down the behind-the-scenes of the hit show “The Traitors”, he shares his deepest doubts about moving from the K-pop stage to the raw “reality” of American television.
The singer admits without hesitation: the experience was a true thermal and emotional shock.
“It was really psychotic. Everything in this show is crazy: the experience, the feedback… everything!”
Initially hesitant to participate, ERIC NAM had to confront his own fears in a format where “stabbing your friends in the back” is the golden rule. His goal? Break the mold and establish himself in American culture, far from the usual “Korea’s boyfriend” label.
He reflects on this game of masks and paranoia.
ERIC NAM explains candidly that it is impossible to act a role in such an immersive experience. You cannot “method act” your own survival:
“In reality, you’re just yourself. You eventually forget that you’re being filmed.”
Yet, this authenticity comes with constant anxiety. Facing veterans of “Survivor” or “Big Brother”, ERIC NAM felt like an easy target. His strategy? Simplicity and prayer.
“I told myself: just be yourself and pray for the best. Luckily, people don’t hate me too much!”
The episode is filled with juicy anecdotes about life in the castle. ERIC NAM answers fans’ questions about the lack of food (the salmon breakfast war was real!) and the technical difficulty of filming.
“There were nights when I was up until 4 a.m.… like when I was tied to that tree, all alone, for what felt like forever.”
Despite the fatigue and stress, ERIC NAM emphasizes the professionalism of host Allan Cumming and the psychological importance of the challenges, which served both to earn money and manipulate bonds between contestants.
While the experience was intense, ERIC NAM does not forget his primary mission: music. This detour into reality TV was above all a way to open his universe to a new audience, hoping to leave a positive impact.
“I have new music coming and I’ll be touring very soon. That’s what I want people to know first and foremost!”
The episode concludes on an optimistic note, with ERIC NAM reminding viewers that beyond on-screen betrayals, being kind and positive remains his top priority.
