The WEI member, KANG SEOKHWA, will star in the musical “GET OFF WORK AT 6 (6시 퇴근).”
KANG SEOKHWA has been cast in the role of “Jang Bogo” for the original musical “GET OFF WORK AT 6 (6시 퇴근),” which will premiere on May 1 at Yegrin Theatre in Daehangno, Seoul.
“GET OFF WORK AT 6 (6시 퇴근)” tells the story of employees from the second marketing team of the pastry company “Afternoon,” who form the office band “GET OFF WORK AT 6 (6시 퇴근)” to save the declining brand “Autumn Moon Bread.” Live performances where the actors play instruments themselves and interactive encores with the audience are signatures of the production.
In the story, Jang Bogo is a shy contract worker who once dreamed of becoming a singer-songwriter. He becomes the singer of the office band “GET OFF WORK AT 6 (6시 퇴근)” and gradually rediscovers his dream. As the main vocalist of WEI, KANG SEOKHWA is expected to demonstrate a powerful stage presence through his impressive voice.
KANG SEOKHWA had already showcased his stage mastery in the original musical “KLIMT: INTO THE TIME OF THE SOUL (클림트: 그 영혼의 시간 속으로)” portraying “Egon Schiele.” With “GET OFF WORK AT 6 (6시 퇴근),” he is expected to reveal even deeper musical abilities and enhance audience immersion.
The original musical “GET OFF WORK AT 6 (6시 퇴근)” featuring KANG SEOKHWA will run from May 1 to July 26 at Yegrin Theatre in Daehangno, Seoul.
