The group KEP1ER announced a radically changed visual and musical universe through a medley video before its return.
KEP1ER, which will make its comeback this March 31 with its eighth mini-album “CRACK CODE”, announced the central concept of “inner awakening” through a medley. The new album “CRACK CODE” sings the process by which the inner ego awakens at the moment when the unstable interior breaks.
Through the music and the visual in the revealed medley, KEP1ER, with a vintage atmosphere and a style both sophisticated and restrained as well as a bold exposure of body lines, suggested a deeper emotional line expanding from the bright and cheerful team color presented until now.
The comeback title song “Killa (Face the other me)”, revealed via this medley of excerpts, is an electronic hip-hop genre where intense lead synths and trap-based drum sounds mingle, and is a track that contains a much more intense color than the image of KEP1ER shown until now.
In particular, it contains the story of the moment when one faces their true nature by breaking their own repressed limits thanks to inner awakening, while another hidden self exists in everyone’s heart.
“I am kep1” is a hip-hop track containing an ambition as if entering a battlefield, and shows the confidence of the group with a heavy bass and intense drum sounds. “Mic check” is an electronic hip-hop genre song containing an even more intense color than the image shown until now. “있지…” completed the album solidly with a strongly addictive hook and lyrics stimulating empathy, by putting the feelings of a thrilling confession into the R&B genre.
While the strongly addictive chorus on a unique sound captivating the ear from the introduction lifted the veil, it makes one look forward with impatience to KEP1ER who will return with a radically changed appearance. In particular, as each track maintains an independent color while announcing the theme of inner awakening, the narrative of a high-density album is expected.
Furthermore, KEP1ER plans to pursue its journey of popularity as a global trend idol by being invited as a ceremonial pitcher and artist for the Taipei and Korea day of the “FY26 ASIA DAY” (provisional name), which will be held in Fukuoka, Japan, from next Friday, May 22 to Sunday, May 24.
