BTS published this March 28 a detailed announcement for the “WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN LATIN AMERICA” on the global super-fan platform WEVERSE.
According to it, starting with Bogota in Colombia in October, 11 concerts will be organized in 5 cities in South America, including Lima in Peru, Santiago in Chile, Buenos Aires in Argentina and São Paulo in Brazil.
BTS will visit Colombia, Peru and Argentina for the first time as a full group. JIN had appeared as a guest during the world tour “MUSIC OF THE SPHERES” of COLDPLAY held in Buenos Aires in October 2022, and had presented there his first solo single “THE ASTRONAUT“.
The influential Peruvian daily El Comercio presented BTS as “ one of the most influential cultural phenomena of the 21st century ” while reporting the announcement of the Lima concert. Moreover, it predicted that this concert would go beyond a simple musical event to bring a local economic repercussion effect.
The world tour of BTS continues its “fast sales” for all sessions. The concerts at the TOKYO DOME in Japan on April 17 and 18 also sold out all seats. Including Goyang already sold out, as well as the tours in North America and Europe, a total of 46 concerts have all been sold. According to the global concert organizer LIVE NATION, BTS sold approximately 2.4 million tickets for 41 concerts in North America and Europe.
Furthermore, the fifth full album “ARIRANG” released by BTS last 20th shows a strong presence in the global charts. The new opus entered at 1st place in the British OFFICIAL CHARTS “OFFICIAL ALBUMS CHART TOP 100” (edition of March 27 to April 3). The title song “Swim“ climbed to 2nd place in the “OFFICIAL SINGLES CHART TOP 100”, breaking the personal record of the group. In the “TOP ALBUMS” (edition of March 20 to 26) published by the SYNDICAT NATIONAL DE L’ÉDITION PHONOGRAPHIQUE (SNEP) in France, it also occupied the first place. In the German official music charts (OFFIZIELLE DEUTSCHE CHARTS / edition of March 27), the new album and the title song ranked respectively 1st in the album and single charts. Their previous best result in the German official singles chart was 6th place established with “Butter“. In the ARIA in Australia, they simultaneously conquered the “TOP 50 ALBUMS” and the “VINYL ALBUMS”.
