RAVI (Kim Won Sik), former member of the group VIXX who caused a controversy due to a corruption scandal related to military service, bowed once again by announcing that he had completed his alternative service as a social service agent.

RAVI stated: “ I apologize to those who were hurt by my wrong actions ” and “ I will continually learn and discipline myself to live as a better person in the future ” through a letter of apology published on his social network account (SNS) on March 27.
Previously, RAVI was involved in a controversy over corruption related to military service in 2023 while performing his alternative service as a social service agent. At the time, RAVI was suspected of having tried to obtain a military service exemption by posing as an epileptic patient in league with a military service broker, by receiving a false medical certificate and by submitting it to the military manpower administration. Subsequently, he was sent before the court for these charges and was sentenced to one year in prison with a two-year suspended sentence.
RAVI revealed through this letter of apology that after the confirmation of the judgment, he had finished the remaining service period and had been discharged on December 13 of last year. In doing so, he confided: “ While going through this process, I felt extremely ashamed of having hoped for understanding by taking my personal situation and my environment as excuses when I should have questioned and rebuked myself, and I realized that a cowardly choice can hurt and cause harm to others ”.
RAVI debuted as a member of VIXX in 2012 and conducted parallel solo singer activities starting from 2017. He was also active as a regular member of “1 night 2 days” on KBS 2TV from December 2019 to May 2022. RAVI left VIXX following the controversy over corruption related to military service.
Full translation of RAVI’s message:
“ Hello, this is RAVI. It has been a long time since I greeted you.
While I was working as a social service agent since October 2022, I was the subject of a trial related to a violation of the military service law, and my service was interrupted due to this process. Subsequently, in accordance with the provisions and instructions of the military manpower administration, I performed the remaining service period and was discharged as of December 13, 2025.
While going through this process, I felt extremely ashamed of having hoped for understanding by taking my personal situation and my environment as excuses when I should have questioned and rebuked myself, and I realized that a cowardly choice can hurt and cause harm to others. I present my apologies again to those who were hurt by my wrong actions, and in the future, I will continually learn and discipline myself to live as a better person.
Thank you.”
