The composer and singer EJAE shared her impressions on her performance during the “ACADEMY AWARDS” ceremony.

On April 1, a press conference commemorating the victory at the “ACADEMY AWARDS” of the NETFLIX production “K-POP DEMON HUNTERS” was held at the CGV YONGSAN IPARK MALL in the Yongsan-gu district in Seoul.
Present at this event were director MAGGIE KANG, general director of “K-POP DEMON HUNTERS”, co-director CHRIS APPELHANS, the co-composer and singer of the OST “Golden” which sparked a global craze, EJAE, as well as the co-composers of the highly appreciated original soundtracks such as “How it’s done”, “Golden”, and “Your idol”, the producers of THE BLACK LABEL IDO (LEE YUHAN, KWAK JUNGGYU, NAM HEEDONG).
The NETFLIX film “K-POP DEMON HUNTERS” had the honor of winning the “BEST ANIMATED FEATURE FILM” and “BEST ORIGINAL SONG” prizes during the “98TH ACADEMY AWARDS (OSCARS)”.
In particular, the “Golden” scene interpreted by EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, and REI AMI during the ceremony started with a performance of reapers reminiscent of a scene from the film, followed by traditional Korean instruments, pansori, and performances by dancers dressed in hanbok, permeating the “ACADEMY AWARDS” ceremony venue with the splendor of Korean culture.
The spectacle of global stars such as actors LEONARDO DICAPRIO, EMMA STONE, and director STEVEN SPIELBERG waving light sticks drew attention.
EJAE stated: “actually, I cried a lot while seeing the stage during rehearsals. I did it with REI AMI and AUDREY NUNA, but they didn’t know Korean culture much. It was a proud moment to finally be able to show traditional music and pansori on such a big stage”, adding: “I was very satisfied and moved”.
She continued by laughing: “I purposely didn’t watch the audience waving lightsticks for fear of losing my voice”, then added: “I didn’t think DICAPRIO would hold one. It was really fascinating, and seeing all the actors holding them made me feel the power of K”.
