KANGIN
The singer KANGIN, a former member of the boy group SUPER JUNIOR, is making his return for the first time in seven years following a series of incidents concerning his private life, this time with a new song.
KANGIN announced this new digital single, titled “LOVE IS PAIN“. He has not yet disclosed a precise release date.
“I was able to organize a meeting tour starting with the Philippines, and I had the chance to sing part of the song I wrote, even though it was not yet completely finished”, KANGIN stated in a self-interview format video published on his YouTube channel.
KANGIN launched his meeting events in Manila, Philippines, in January. He traveled to Vietnam, Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Hong Kong. He is scheduled to organize the same events in Taiwan this month and in Japan next month.
“Thanks to the support that you (fans) all showed me during the tour, I found the courage to finally share the full version”, KANGIN stated.
While noting that his “fans who waited for a long time” were a motivation for his new work, he promised to show them a better version of himself.
KANGIN debuted as a member of SUPER JUNIOR in 2005. However, he was unable to fully participate in group activities at times due to his involvement in various accidents, such as a hit-and-run while driving under the influence of alcohol in 2009 and a physical assault while in a state of intoxication the same year.
He also committed another drunk driving offense in 2016 and was sentenced to pay a fine of 7 million won (4150 Euros). He allegedly assaulted a woman in 2017.
After a series of scandals, he left the boy group in 2019 and opened his YouTube channel in July 2023 to begin his solo activity.
