DKZ
A chapter is closing for the K-pop industry.

In an official statement released on April 15, 2026, Dongyo Entertainment announced that the group DKZ (formerly known as DONGKIZ) will conclude its group activities on May 31, 2026. This decision, reached after extensive discussions with the members, marks the beginning of a new individual chapter for each of them.
Debuting in April 2019 with the single “DONGKIZ ON THE BLOCK,” the group spent a long time fighting for a spot in an ultra-competitive scene. Initially driven by a retro and energetic concept, DKZ experienced a true turning point in 2022. Thanks to the phenomenal success of the BL drama Semantic Error, in which member JAECHAN played the lead role, the group’s popularity skyrocketed.
This miraculous “resurrection” led to a complete rebranding from DONGKIZ to DKZ and the addition of new members (Sehyeon, Mingyu, and Giseok) to join mainstays JAECHAN and JONGHYEONG. Tracks like “Cupid” and “Uh-Heung” remain symbols of this successful new era.
The announcement specifies that the contracts have been handled with care to ensure the artists’ futures:
-
JAECHAN and JONGHYEONG have already renewed their contracts with Dongyo Entertainment to pursue their careers in various fields (music, acting, and variety).
-
SEHYEON, MINGYU, and GISEOK will also continue their paths as artists under the agency but will now focus on personal projects.
The agency expressed its heartfelt thanks to the Dong-ari (the fans) for their unwavering support over these seven years, promising to support the five members with the same fervor in the next stages of their careers.
The group will complete its final official engagements through May 31 before officially disbanding.
