The group THE WIND celebrated its 3rd debut anniversary.
THE WIND (Thanatorn, Park Hayuchan, Kim Heesoo, Choi Hanbin, An Chanwon, Jang Hyounjoon) debuted on May 15, 2023, with its first mini-album “BEGINNING : THE WIND PAGE”. They received love from K-pop fans with a refreshing concept based on the keyword “Youth_Teen”. “With us”, a song from its 1st mini-album, was designated as the ending song in coin karaokes.
The second single “ONLY ONE STORY”, released in March of last year, broke their own album sales record. This album showed global popularity, with all songs ranking in the iTunes Top Songs Chart in Thailand. In particular, the title track of the 3rd mini-album “Hello, my first love” offered them their first 1st place trophy since their debut.
Recently, THE WIND announced a new leap forward under a cooperation system with PANGSTAR ENTERTAINMENT. PANGSTAR ENTERTAINMENT is a company founded by CEO Bang Jae-hyuk, who participated in the success myth of ATEEZ. This company had announced that it would build a differentiated direction by recruiting members who have worked for a long time in the entertainment industry.
PANGSTAR ENTERTAINMENT plans to foster the artist’s growth through a collaboration that opens a new chapter for THE WIND. THE WIND plans to expand its field of activity to the global market and pursue its transformation with various projects and new concepts.
The members, who celebrated their 3rd debut anniversary, also shared their activities from the past three years and their future goals. The members cited the time spent with fans on stage as the most memorable moment. They also stated that they were striving to strengthen their individuality while maintaining the team’s color, and to consolidate their teamwork.
They expressed their wish to be remembered in the future as a team that conveys joy and happiness, as well as a high-performing team on stage. They expressed their gratitude toward the fans for being present during these 3 years, as well as their intention to show a better image.
Here are the Q&A from the members of THE WIND on the occasion of its 3rd debut anniversary
Q. What is your feeling on the occasion of this 3rd debut anniversary?
HANBIN : “The 3rd anniversary arrived while we were leading joyful and fun activities with WHIZ. I am very, very happy and it’s incredible.”
CHANWON : “It’s incredible that the time spent with WHIZ is already 3 years. I am always grateful to WHIZ for staying by our side, and I want to give back to them as much as I have received.”
HYOUNJOON : “I don’t realize that it’s already been 3 years since we debuted, and I think we were able to get here thanks to the passionate encouragement of WHIZ. I always thank and love WHIZ and the members.”
Q. Is there a moment that marked you the most during your activities over the past 3 years?
HEESOO : “It’s a relatively recent event. I didn’t think I would go to “VISITING TRAIN” in my life, but it was a truly happy and incredible experience to go there thanks to a very good opportunity to encourage people.”
THANATORN : “All the moments where I performed on stage while looking at WHIZ stay engraved in my memory.”
HAYUCHAN : “The moment when we did the showcase stage for “Hello, my first love” is the one that comes to mind the most.”
Q. Recently, you started a new chapter with a new collaboration. What efforts are you making to show the color unique to THE WIND?
THANATORN : “We practice a lot to go beyond our respective “Comfort Zones” and to be able to control our power.”
CHANWON : “For a superb stage, I develop my physical condition and I practice a lot on facial expressions and expression ability.”
HYOUNJOON : “We make a lot of efforts to show many other facets while not losing the freshness unique to THE WIND.”
Q. Is there something you would absolutely like to do with the members to celebrate this 3rd anniversary?
HEESOO : “Aside from traveling abroad for schedules, I would like to go on a trip abroad among members. I want to go on a trip by setting plenty of things we want to do and eat among ourselves.”
HANBIN : “Me, I want to make a comeback quickly. I want to quickly show WHIZ an image of THE WIND that has grown even more.”
HAYUCHAN : “Me, I would like to go on a trip to Jeju Island with all the members.”
Q. How do you wish THE WIND to remain engraved in memories in the future?
THANATORN : “I would like us to be engraved in everyone’s mind thanks to our music, and for us to be remembered as an adorable team capable of assimilating any genre well.”
HAYUCHAN : “I want to become a team that is high-performing on stage.”
CHANWON : “I want to become a team that can become a memory for many people and a happiness for WHIZ.”
Q. A word for the fans who are always with you.
HEESOO : “Thank you very much to WHIZ who always trust us and accompany us. Unfortunately, I was not able to participate in this album for health reasons, but I will return soon with a healthy image, so please wait for me. I love you.”
