The legendary group from SM Entertainment, SHINee, strikes a major blow with an immersive conceptual video, opening the doors to a brand new visual and sonic chapter.
On May 26, 2026, the agency SM Entertainment created an event within the K-Pop community by publishing the official Mood Sampler of the group SHINee for their highly anticipated project titled “ATMOS”. Lasting one minute twenty-two, this promotional short film abandons conventional formats to plunge the listener into a multisensory and deeply mystical experience.
The video articulates around a striking visual and textual duality, divided into two distinct acts. The first part of the video is introduced by a screen split into four vertical bands where natural elements unleash: aquatic swirls, a torrential rain, rocky textures, and moving storm clouds. At the center of these forces of nature, the piercing gazes of the members of SHINee appear in turn in black and white, capturing a rare dramatic intensity. An immersion under a driving rain follows where the group stands united, before a macroscopic shot on an inflamed iris operates a radical transition.
The second half of the video then shifts into a nocturnal and psychedelic atmosphere. Shrouded in blue, purple, and saturated neon lights, the members evolve in the middle of a mystical forest, surrounded by glittering fireflies and visual distortion effects (glitch). This poetic and wild aesthetic stages the complicity and magnetic presence of the artists in a universe worthy of a fantasy film.
The purpose of this publication is to lay the foundations of the sonic and conceptual identity of this comeback. The teaser is entirely carried by an experimental audio landscape, blending thunder noises, aquatic echoes, industrial electronic sounds, and enveloping synthesizer pads. This audacious choice confirms SHINee‘s reputation as an avant-garde group, always ready to push back the artistic borders of the industry.
The visual closes on official hand-drawn logos, confirming the upcoming release of “ATMOS”, SHINee‘s 6th mini-album under the SM Entertainment label, this coming June 1.
