The group THE BOYZ will continue its group activities in the form of a 9-member system.
The 9 members of THE BOYZ (Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, Eric) declared on August 6:
“The 9 of us agreed to pursue the activities of the group THE BOYZ together and finalized a group activity contract to this effect. We are currently preparing our activities under the structure of a new label.”
Before finalizing their individual activities, the members reflected while placing the decision for their fans as the absolute priority. In the case of individual activities, they opted for the “separated but together” method consisting of concluding separate contracts with individual agencies capable of maximizing their respective skills, while staying together for group activities.
The members declared: “There has never been a change from the beginning in the hearts of the 9 members regarding the fact that we had to be together. Above all, we wanted to convey our intention first to the fans who waited and worried about the group activities of THE BOYZ.” They added: “While doing our best in our respective places, we will do our best to continue to bring to life the precious time accumulated with the fans as THE BOYZ.”
In addition, with the exception of NEW who had previously chosen to remain in his agency, the 9 members of THE BOYZ had notified the termination of their exclusive contract to One Hundred (represented by Cha Ga-won) citing non-payment of their financial settlements and the breach of the relationship of trust. Subsequently, their application for an injunction to suspend the validity of the exclusive contract filed with the court last April having been accepted, they laid the groundwork for a new start.
Fans are now waiting to know which agency will manage the group and the members individually.
