As sweet as its name might suggest, HONEYST, FNC Entertainment’s ‘namchindol band’ (litt.: band with a perfect-boyfriend image) is getting known for its sweet and refreshing image.

Even before their official debut in the music industry, HONEYST got used to performing on stage in small indie clubs, where they earned a lot of experience and got to better their skills. To top it all, they also got a warm and welcoming image that made it even easier for them to make their fans fall for them.
If you still don’t know about HONEYST, the time has come for me to introduce them to you.
How are you feeling with your very first concert (May 21st) since your debut (May 17th) coming soon?
KIM HWAN: We finally get to realize that we have debuted. There is more crowd in the audience, some people who read articles about us and got curious also come too. There is also a lot more feedback.
SEO DONGSUNG: We are feeling different. There were times when we actually performed in front of an empty room.
To which extent were they empty?
OH SEUNGSEOK: With litteraly nobody in the audience.
SEO DONSUNG: Expect from those who were to perform after us, there really was nobody. Now, we are getting know bit by bit, and some people listen to our songs, which makes it even more exciting!
I heard you draw on the entrance tickets?
KIM HWAN: We personally draw and write on around 50 to 60 tickets. Each one of us prepares 12 tickets, and they are randomly given to people at the entrance. Chulmin actually draws really well.
OH SEUNGSEOK: I like writing a lot so I write down whatever comes to my mind on the tickets. Without thinking much (laugh).
How did your campus busking tour go?
KIM HWAN: There were fans, and there students too. I was happy to listen to the audience singing ‘Like You’ with us. When I got home, I would check the feedbacks on our performances and I was happy to read the comments stating that “HONEYST came to our school, their songs are good.”

I heard there were also people complaining about there classes ending late and not being able to go to your concerts.
KIM CHULMIN: That really is a problem. Should I listen to the songs while in class? The problem is you cannot focus in class if you do so. You have to go to school and listen in class!
Do you look up for your name on internet browsers sometimes?
HONEYST: We type ‘HONEYST‘ every day in the search bar. It is really satisfying to read that someone went somewhere and heard one of our songs. When at concerts, we always try to make our music known, or we share some content through videos that can show what king of people we are. But now that we have officially debuted, we can proudly say that we have our own songs. We are more confident.
The company you are in is known for its bands, isn’t there a lot of pressure when it comes to your success?
SEO DONGSUNG: There is no particular pressure when it comes to our seniors being successful. To us, the biggest issue for now is to get recognized for our music and finding our own musical colours and genres.
KIM HWAN: I am really pleased to hear “ah! FNC Entertainment also produces those kind of artists” lately.
Any advice given by your seniors?
HONEYST: They are all very busy so we did not really get the chance to meet them. But they sometimes come and visit us in our practice room, and that gives us the energy to keep working. They give us advice on how to behave on stage, or on how to perform together and always cheer us up.
There is a saying about band members not being able to dance, what do you think about that?
KIM CHULMIN: I really don’t know how to dance. When I really trained hard, I could somehow dance. But I prefer watching people having fun and dancing. I don’t know how to dance, but I like making the audience dance.
Your seniors, DAY6 are promoting on music shows. What are your thoughts?
KIM HWAN: Our seniors also started by promoting in live music halls. They only appearing on TV quite recently. Just like our seniors, with who we got a few chances to perform with at concerts, we love music. They are seniors we want to get along well with.
I am from Busan, and some DAY6 members are also from Busan. Some others went to the same music academy as I did, so I really want to get close to them.Il y a beaucoup de nouveau groupe dans l’industrie, vous devez avoir la pression?
KIM HWAN: Since we are promoting our album on stage, we learn a lot from those who have officially debuted on TV music shows. We also hope that we will do good in the future. We too want to work well and appear on TV.
A word for your fans who want to see you on TV?
HONEYST: For these promotions, we came up with a busking tour concept. Thus we don’t have any plans of appearing on TV. Strting from the next album we might get the chance to do so. We will come back with even better songs.
