Bighit Entertainment officially announced today the resumption of the GFRIEND Girls Group agency, Source Music, and will soon take control of an agency affiliated with a large group of boys.
Discussions are already underway between the two companies, but there are still coordination problems, which have not yet been formally announced. Industry sources indicate that the merger and acquisition of both companies is almost certain. It should be completed by 2020 at the latest.
This will add another boys’ group agency to Source Music, which has a large number of women’s teams, to form a strong label structure.
In addition, an agency for a popular trot singer is also mentioned, but a head of the agency put things in place, saying that “this is not yet the subject of in-depth discussions“.
With the goal of entering its new offices next year, Bighit Entertainment will build its 19-storey building in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
