November 4th at 6pm KST, B.I.G makes a comeback with the song « ILLUSION » and five hours later, the group upload an arabic version.
On February 1st 2019, B.I.G‘s members upload on their Youtube channel a cover of THE5‘s « LA BEZZAF » in arabic and the video reaches a million of views in less than a week. Strong with success, they decide to start a Global Cover Project in order to cover songs from all around the world in their original language. Supported by more and more Arab fans, they cover ABU‘s « 3 DAQUAT », SAAM LAMJARRED‘s « LM3ALLEM », HUSSAIN AL JASSMI‘s « BOSHRET KHEIR » and their own comeback « HELLO HELLO » in arabic. The videos now have more than 13 millions views on their Youtube channel.
Thanks to their popularity with this new audience, BENJI, GUNMIN, MINPYO, HEEDO and JINSEOK have also the honnor to be invited at the Blue House on June 26th to perform « LA BEZZAF » in front of the president Moon Jae In and the crown prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad bin Salman.
Really grateful to their arab fans, it makes sense that B.I.G‘s members would thank them by offering them an arabic version of « ILLUSION ». The original song itself is inspired by current arab trendy songs that the members had the opportunity to discover and to appreciate thanks to their covers.
Eventhough it seems difficult to sing and to rap in a language that sounds way different from korean, B.I.G‘s members successfully manage to do it and they have been praised a lot by their fans for their good pronounciation. To achieve this, they explain that they received arabic classes several hours a week.
B.I.G who is now having an explosive popularity in the arab countries, was invited to hold a concert on November 7th and a fan meeting on November 8th at the Korean Festival organised by the Korean Cultural Center of Abu Dhabi.
