BLACKPINK: Their choreography ignites fans

BLACKPINK continues to be in a scary mood, breaking the record for the shortest time in a row with 100 million views not only for music videos but also for dance videos.

According to YG Entertainment on August 20th, the choreography video for BLACKPINK‘s “How you like that” surpassed 200 million views on YouTube at 1:10 pm the same day.

It’s only been about 45 days and four hours since its release at 9 am on July 6th, which is the fastest time to hit 200 million views across all of K-pop artists’ choreography videos. In particular, it’s heartbreaking to remember that the choreographic video for BLACKPINK‘s existing mega-hit song “Kill this love” surpassed 100 million views on day 57, which was already a record.

It’s rare that a dance video, and not a music video, gets 100 million views, but it has become commonplace for BLACKPINK. In fact, 10 of BLACKPINK‘s 20 billion views are choreography videos, and if this trend continues, “How you like that” should surpass “Ddu-du ddu-du” record of 300 million views ” .

With “How you like that“, BLACKPINK has achieved remarkable results on various world rankings. Shortly after its release, the song achieved a “Perfect All Kill” on six major national charts, followed by # 1 on iTunes in 64 countries and # 2 on Spotify’s Top 50 worldwide.

It also ranked 33rd and 20th in the US Billboard Hot 100 and UK Official Singles Top 100, respectively, ranking as the highest in K-pop girl group history, and was successful to make K-pop’s longest charts on the Spotify World Top 50 charts for 55 days.

The video for “How you like that” sets more incredible records. The clip, which was officially listed in five Guinness World Records categories as “Most Views on YouTube in 24 Hours” with 86.3 million views on day one, recently topped 400 million views, beating the record for reaching 100 million views in BLACKPINK history.

BLACKPINK will return with a new song in collaboration with Selena Gomez on August 28th. The group also announced the release of their first album in four years since debuting on October 2nd, catching the attention of music fans around the world.
