GOT7: “School violence” accusation against YOUNGJAE released

It was on social networks via a post from an anonymous Internet user that the accusation of “school violence” targeting YOUNGJAE of GOT7 was published.

It was on October 20th on an online GOT7 fan community site that an anonymous user named “A” posted accusations of “school violence” against YOUNGJAE, a member of the South Korean group of k- pop GOT7.

Internet user “A” explains the situation in his message and says he has a disability, more specifically mental retardation and hearing problems. YOUNGJAE and “A” were reportedly educated at the same institution, Mokpo Technical High School, where YOUNGJAE was educated in his youth.

Accusing YOUNGJAE of having stolen goods and money from him, “A” adds that he also allegedly hit him for no reason.

The post having raised a real controversy on social networks and upset the fandom of GOT7, iGOT7 and fans of YOUNGJAE, the agency of GOT7 and YOUNGJAE, JYP Entertainment has decided to react and publish a statement on the accusations.

«After checking with YOUNGJAE himself, there was once a quarrel that led to a physical conflict between classmates, and after that I was unable to reconcile. The author said he emailed his complaint to us, but we have not received any contact by email from him. We have contacted the author to confirm specific and detailed facts, but have yet to receive a response. Therefore, we will respond on principles such as verifying the facts more clearly and preparing appropriate countermeasures.»

Similar charges of harassment of people with disabilities targeting YOUNGJAE while attending the same school have been posted online, but without official confirmation.

YOUNGJAE has not spoken officially on the subject.
