Amid further allegations of school violence against SEVENTEEN’s MINGYU, some fans have called for his removal from the group.
On February 26th, a statement was posted to the online community calling for MINGYU’s removal from the group SEVENTEEN. Those who drafted the statement said, “We demand the removal of MINGYU from SEVENTEEN, the perpetrator of school violence against the weak, women and the disabled, as soon as possible.“
They demand a direct apology from KIM MINGYU and the official position of Pledis Entertainment, also demanding its withdrawal and the suspension of his entertainment activities. They said, “Violence in schools is a social crime which cannot be forgiven for any reason,” and added: “We demand that the government clearly recognize the seriousness of violence in schools and the importance of managing artists through this incident and announcing its position as soon as possible.“
On February 26th, an online community published an article claiming that MINGYU harassed disabled people and women during his school days. The author claimed that MINGYU harassed classmates by grabbing one of the breasts or throwing garbage or hitting them on their desks to stimulate them.
In addition to this, another author claims to have been knocked out by MINGYU, after hearing an inappropriate joke, and posted a copy of his psychiatric medical record, adding credibility to the claim.
