Former member of idol group BAP, HIMCHAN (31, real name Kim Himchan), who sparked controversy over allegations of indecent assault and drunk driving, surprises fans by revealing that he tried to end his life.
According to an exclusive Star News report on June 14th, HIMCHAN attempted to make an extreme choice at his home late on June 13th. Just before this point, HIMCHAN posted a long article on his Instagram. In this intense article, he reflected on his recent actions and expressed his apologies to the fans.

According to officials and others, HIMCHAN did so on a whim, blaming himself for his controversial behavior caused by jail time for indecent assault and drunk driving.
As a result of the report, luckily, the artist’s mother was able to prevent a more serious accident after receiving a call from acquaintances who were concerned for HIMCHAN’s safety. Agency officials are also trying to protect the artist by dealing with the situation.

Until recently, HIMCHAN was charged with indecent assault and sentenced to prison in the first trial, drawing attention.
HIMCHAN was charged without detention in July 2018 for forcibly assaulting a woman in her twenties at a boarding house in Namyangju, Gyeonggi province, and the court sentenced HIMCHAN to 10 months in prison and 40 hours in a treatment program for sexual violence. HIMCHAN didn’t accept the first lawsuit and appealed.
During the various hearings, HIMCHAN and A had a fierce battle, showing differences in their positions. While A claimed that HIMCHAN had assaulted him by force, HIMCHAN made it known that it was not a forced assault, saying, “We loved each other and it was contact by tacit consent”, but the court ruled in favor of A.
HIMCHAN appeared to be resuming his solo career after releasing his solo single on October 25, 2020, but was caught drunk near Hakdong Sauli, Dosan-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on October 26, 2020, causing the public indignation. In response, HIMCHAN admitted his mistake, saying, “I will live a life of soul-searching.“
Finally, it was reported that HIMCHAN, was now at home and that he was resting surrounded by people to help him.
