UP10TION: An expected comeback

TOP MEDIA‘s group UP10TION is making their comeback with a second album called “CONNECTION”.

Currently composed of members KUHN, KOGYEOL, BIT-TO, SUNYOUL, XIAO, GYUJIN and HWANHEE, the group is making their comeback after nine months of absence. The members are back with a new album having two versions, “silhouette” where the members don’t realize the light illuminating them and “illuminate” where on the contrary they are aware of it. BIT-TO says he prefers the second version, but advises fans to look at both albums. Without waiting any longer than necessary, the group performed their new title song: “Spin off“, the members dressed in blue and white for a dynamic song with a neat dance. This album is a continuation of their previous one, released last September, “LIGHT UP“.

The title song “Spin off” is about creating a new world and discovering the instincts that a person has. The majority of boys choose XIAO as the member who best matches the comeback with his sexy and refined image. BIT-TO best represents the key point of the choreography when he sings “stop the action” and mimics taking a photograph in front of his face. KOGYEOL emphasized the beauty of HWANHEE’s voice for this comeback. This new album consists of ten tracks, most of which were written by KHUN and BIT-TO. There are also solos and songs in sub-units.

The young men performed each song on the album one by one, starting with “Liar” which speaks of the confused feelings when we realize that the love we had shared with someone was all lie. After that, “Summer drive” revealed a refreshing and cool aspect of the group, then “Parade” was dedicated to the fans who continually support UP10TION. The following title is recommended by SUNYOUL, “Destroyed“, referring to the injuries that one can experience. A first sub-unit appeared with the track “If“, composed of KOGYEOL and HWANHEE. The song deals with the difficulties encountered by couples who do not understand and cannot stand each other, offering a track rich in emotions. The following sub-unit brings together KHUN, SUNYOUL, GYUJIN and XIAO and bears the name of “Forever“, which, following on the same theme as the previous title, addresses the break-up between two beings. The last three songs are “Believe in you“, “Sky line” between KOGYEOL and BIT-TO where they speak directly to their fans, and finally “Honey cake” where this time all members are on stage to deliver a message to fans.

XIAO considers this album to be representative of the colors defining each member and wants people who listen to it to think so. BIT-TO selects the phrase “From now on, Spin-off [지금 부터 spin-off]” as the most impactful in the title song. SUNYOUL and HWANHEE strongly impacted XIAO during their participation in the show “Voice King”, which pushed him to surpass himself and work harder for this comeback. The two men also look back on this period declaring to have received a lot of support from their family and members of the group.
