8TURN: From new ambitions to a growing love for Paris

During a press conference ahead of its concert, 8TURN spoke to us about its ambitions and its growing attachment to Paris.

Formed in January 2023 under MNH Entertainment, 8TURN is an eight-member group composed of JAEYUN, MYUNGHO, MINHO, YUNGYU, HAEMIN, KYUNGMIN, YOONSUNG and SEUNGHEON. Three years after their debut, the members have gradually developed their career on the international stage, including a European tour allowing them to meet their fans across several cities, including Paris.

KSTATION TV was invited by Kooky, the promoter of the show, to an exclusive press conference ahead of the group’s concert at La Cigale on September 25. It was a unique opportunity to talk with the members of 8TURN about their European tour, their growth since their first visit to Paris and their future projects.

As an introduction, the members chose three words to introduce themselves to their new fans. MYUNGHO chose: “Passion, Ambition and Look at me”, before explaining that these were lyrics from the rap part of “We” and that they perfectly represented the group’s energy.

The members were also asked about their biggest source of motivation. For SEUNGHEON, it is above all when he is on stage that he feels this energy. He explained that he feels highly motivated when performing, especially thanks to the energy of the fans and that of the 8TURN members together on stage. A collective energy that also makes him want to continue growing and performing on even bigger stages.

During the meeting, KSTATION TV wanted to learn more about the group’s ambitions and what the members would still like to accomplish with 8TURN. A question that allowed them to share some of their plans for the future.

“We would like to release an album where each member could participate and propose their own solo track.” – YUNGYU

“Like many groups, we would also like to develop sub-units.” – YOONSUNG

As the group had already been in Paris last year at Le Bataclan, we also asked the members what had changed since their first visit to the capital and what they wanted to bring to the French audience this time.

“We were a little lost the first time. Now, we feel much more comfortable in the city, I am even starting to consider Paris as a second home.” – HAEMIN

“We have adapted more to Paris and gained confidence since our first visit. We have even become more romantic, just like the city. So I think the fans in Paris will have even more fun with us today.” – YUNGYU

The group then talked about the memory that had left the biggest impression on them during their last visit to Paris. JAEYUN shared: “Our CEO came to the Paris concert last time, and that is something that really left an impression on us.” The members also explained that they had been very moved by that concert and by meeting their French fans.

Finally, the members looked back on their reaction when they learned that Paris had been chosen by the fans to welcome 8TURN again this year. JAEYUN shared that they were really worried at first. As he explained, many groups that had debuted before them held a concert in Paris, which led them to wonder whether they could achieve the same success. But their worries quickly faded when they realized that there were still many fans looking for them and who still loved them. This support particularly left an impression on them.

This new meeting with the French audience allowed 8TURN members to see how far they have come since their first visit to Paris, while also sharing their ambitions for the future. Between the desire to perform on even bigger stages alongside its fans and to offer ambitious new musical projects, 8TURN continues to grow with determination and seems more ready than ever to write the next chapter of its story.
