HYPEBEAST has released its annual 2021 Most Influential People List. It highlights top talent who have made remarkable contributions to the world of fashion and street culture.
HYPEBEAST, through its list of this year 2021, wishes to recognize the leaders of fashion, footwear, music and art, not only for their talents in the creation of products but also for their ability to connect positively cultures.
And the only Korean musician on the list comes as no great surprise G-DRAGON, due to its rapidly growing brand PEACEMINUSONE which is considered a mainstay of streetwear. Collaborations between G-DRAGON and Nike continue for the 3rd consecutive year with the release this year of the “Kwondo1” which ended up out of stock a few minutes after its worldwide release.

“G-DRAGON‘s brand PEACEMINUSONE has rapidly grown in popularity since its inception five years ago. The label has now become a pillar of streetwear thanks to its previous collections and the release of the collaborative Nike Air Force 1, available in black and white.
In 2021, we see PEACEMINUSONE staying consistent with its street-inspired looks. The first series released in February delivered premium items such as a leather motorcycle jacket, quilted jacket liner, printed tops, double breasted jacket and accessories. However, G-DRAGON‘s label has put the spotlight on the spotlight with their PEACEMINUSONE x Nike Kwondo1.
The highly anticipated shoe sports an all-white look and features brogue details such as panel perforations and a wing tip design. The upper is covered with embossed logo panels featuring both G-DRAGON‘s Swoosh insignia and PEACEMINUSONE. At the heel, fans will find the familiar sunflower embroidery that was also featured in previous Nike PEACEMINUSONE shoes.
More recently, a personalized version of this future collaboration appeared at the feet of G-DRAGON. Her custom pair sports a slew of colorful updates such as blue colored Swooshes, logo clips, pins, and a fully distressed look. The shoe could be one of the best sneakers of the year.”
The “Kwondo1” was also nominated for the best sneaker of 2021, but lost to the latest projects of the late Virgil Abloh, who died a few weeks ago.
Finally, G-DRAGON is also one of the 12 musicians appearing in the HYPEBEAST list, alongside Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Drake, Billie Eilish and Kanye West.
