SEUNGRI (real name Lee Seung-hyun), who was kicked out of the entertainment industry due to the “Burning Sun club scandal,” admitted the charges during the appeal trial. The sentence was reduced by half at the first trial.

According to Nocut News on the 27th, the High Military Court of the Ministry of National Defense held an appeal trial of SEUNGRI on suspicion of embezzlement and organizing prostitution and sentenced him to one and a half years in prison.

Earlier in August last year, the Yongin Land Operations Command Joint Military Court sentenced SEUNGRI, who was charged with nine counts including organizing prostitution, to three years in prison. In addition, SEUNGRI was fined an additional 1.156.9 billion won.

SEUNGRI, who opposed the decision of the first trial, appealed in October last year, and the military prosecution also filed an appeal letter. Initially, SEUNGRI was set to be released from the army on September 16 last year, but after the appeal, the military court resumed further trial and the release was suspended.

During the second trial, SEUNGRI admitted all the charges and expressed his thinking position. It is admitted that the second trial court reduced the sentence to one year and six months, unlike the first trial, in view of SEUNGRI’s thoughtful attitude.

SEUNGRI is currently in prison, in the prison of the armed forces. If SEUNGRI and the military prosecution do not appeal and the trial is finalized, SEUNGRI will be released after serving an additional year and month. The Supreme Court will handle the third trial.
