The three-member boy group IN A MINUTE is releasing its first studio album.
IN A MINUTE’s first studio album, “WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN : MIDNIGHT”, is an album that traces the process of accepting and overcoming a breakup, as well as the path to regaining daily life. While their previous songs drew the flow of emotions ranging from meeting and excitement to the crisis of the relationship and the breakup, this album expresses the process of resignation and overcoming through the change that occurs from the moment the sun goes down to the heart of the night before sunrise.
The title song “Midnight” is a continuation of the track “혼잣말” featured in the previous work “WHO DO YOU LOVE : I NEED YOU”. With its sounds based on the electronica genre, its striking bass part in the interlude and the members’ vocals tinged with delicate sensitivities, it leaves a deep impression. It stimulates listeners’ empathy by comparing the confusion and nostalgia toward a person one cannot easily let go of, while knowing that one will grow numb over time after the breakup, to the emotions of a deep night.
This album gains in perfection thanks to an organic connection that begins with the introduction track “When the sun goes down”, which opens the story starting after sunset, followed by “Painful” (환상통) which expresses the pain and nostalgia left by the emptiness of a breakup, “Inner peace” where one begins to accept the breakup and return to daily life, and “Pause” (정지버튼) which expresses a moment of helplessness that everyone feels at least once, outside of love and breakups.
Apart from that, tracks of varied genres have been integrated, notably “Day&night” (Feat. AIDEN), “Ordinary day” and “Blah blah”, which allow one to feel the individuality of the three members JAEJUN, JUNTAE and HYUNYEOP as musicians, as well as the fan song “1AM” containing special affection toward the fandom INNING, and “In_Complete” (관람차) which draws the spirit of moving forward again on the basis of childhood dreams.
In particular, member JAEJUN participated in all the songs of the album, revealing his true side as a singer-songwriter, while JUNTAE and HYUNYEOP also participated proactively in the work of their solo tracks, maximizing their own musical charm. Having attracted the attention of the Korean and international music market by consistently presenting personal compositions since their debut, IN A MINUTE is expected to prove its further grown musical capability through this first studio album and further consolidate its own identity.
