As girl group APRIL disbanded six years after their debut, members CHAE WON, JIN SOL, YE NA, and CHAE KYUNG expressed their feelings with handwritten letters. The members regretted that they could not keep the group and asked for support for their individual activities.
CHAE WON, JIN SOL, YE NA, and CHAE KYUNG posted handwritten letters on APRIL’s fan cafe on January 28.
First, CHAEWON said:
“The short moments that we met with the name APRIL and that we spent together were the most precious moments of my life. I don’t think this is the end, although I miss it. so much now. The end is another beginning in a way. I thought I did my best, but looking back, I regret it and I’m sorry. We will live in our own form, not as APRIL, but we will treasure the time we shone together as sweet memories.”
JIN SOL explained:
“I wanted to protect a group called APRIL as far as I could reach it, but now I’ve decided to disband it because I thought I had no choice but to end it. I am so grateful to the members who have been with me, and will silently support everyone’s activities. I’m a little scared, but I’ll take courage and walk my own path and ask you to keep an eye on me.”
YENA said:
“As of today, I will release myself from the name of APRIL. There was a lot of work until this decision and I suffered from it. I wanted to be a proud singer, but I’m sorry I couldn’t perform it to the end. Today is the last day as APRIL’s YENA, but I will try to show better performance as YANG YENA, so please always watch from my side.”
CHAEKYUNG said:
“I was so happy to meet FineApple (fans of the group). I sincerely thank you for always giving me excessive love. Now I’m scared and I don’t know what to do alone after coming back from APRIL as Yoon Chae Kyung, but please support APRIL members who will go their own way at the future.”

On the same day, DSP Media, the group’s agency, broke the news of APRIL’s disbandment, saying, “After a long discussion and reflection, the members have decided to disband the band and go their own way.”
APRIL, which debuted in 2015, has built a fandom step by step, loved for its innocent image and refreshing music. However, last year, the group was at the center of controversy as it was suspected of bullying its former member Lee Hyun Joo.
