Group BLANK2Y raised expectations for its debut album with a video teaser for its new song.
BLANK2Y (Louis, DK, Donghyuk, Siwoo, Youngbin, Mikey, U, Sungjun, Sodam) released the music video for the title track of their debut mini album “Thumbs up” on their official SNS at midnight KST on May 20.
In the posted video, the members of BLANK2Y appeared reaching out into the air in the dark. In another part of the video, a member appears wearing a flowery eye mask and creates an art film atmosphere with careful production.
In the second half of the video, the beat leading up to the climax captivated listeners’ ears. On top of that, BLANK2Y’s visuals, which have become more intense, have been added. Finally, member SIWOO said, “Go up blank2y” with a hand gesture reminiscent of the group’s logo, amplifying questions about the sound source and the title track’s music video.
BLANK2Y’s first mini-album is the opening album of the K2Y trilogy. The title track “Thumbs up” is a trap genre with an awesome addictive chorus, which contains BLANK2Y’s unwavering ambition and confidence to fill the world with heat.
CIELOGROOVE, a producer team that produced Sung Si Kyung’s “곁에 있어준다면” and ITZY’s “Weapon,” participated in the writing and composition of “Thumbs up.” They produced the entire album for BLANK2Y, raising the level of perfection.
The music video, which only caught attention with a short video teaser, was directed by Cho Bum Jin, a creative director of UNVEIL, who directed Aespa’s “Black mamba“, SuperM’s “Tiger”. and NCT 127’s “Sticker.” He’s rumored to have maxed out BLANK2Y’s charm with his unique dreamy yet colorful video technique.
BLANK2Y will make a surprise debut at 6 p.m. on May 24 alongside the release of their first mini album “K2Y I: CONFIDENCE [Thumbs Up]” via various online music sites. On the same day, at 8 p.m. KST, the first online and offline showcase will take place.
