SUPERM: A return announced for 2023

During the SM ENTERTAINMENT agency’s annual concert, the announcement of SUPERM’s comeback for this new year was officially unveiled.

SUPERM, is the group founded by the SM ENTERTAINMENT agency which has the principle of bringing together the most “talented” members of its male groups to form the “Avengers of KPOP”. The project actually released in October 2019, with the group’s first song “Jopping” which happens to be the title track of the album of the same name. This was followed by the release of the songs “100” and “Tiger inside“, which gave birth in 2020 to the boys’ very first full album “SUPER ONE“.

The constituent members of SUPERM are seven in number: two members of the EXO group; BAEKHYUN and KAI, a member of SHINEE: TAEMIN, and four other NCT group members; LUCAS (WAYV, NCT U), TEN (WAYV, NCT U), TAEYONG (NCT 127, NCT U) and MARK (NCT 127, NCT DREAM and NCT U).

Since then, the group has not made a comeback. Indeed, BAEKHYUN and TAEMIN have gone to the army and plan to return precisely in 2023, in addition to being eagerly awaited by EXO fans, they also seem to be returning in order to reconstitute SUPERM for this new year.

The announcement of the comeback was not long in coming either, since it is this January 1, 2023, that the agency announces through its annual concert “SMTOWN LIVE 2023″ the return of SUPERM for this year. The teaser unveiled during the concert was also released via the group’s SNS, through a video stating these words: “SuperM will be coming in 2023“. This announcement does not, however, hint at an exact date, as only this video has been released so far.

As for LUCAS (being on hiatus even today), no new announcements have been made, and although various rumors are circulating about his return in 2023, clearly supported by the fact that we can see 7 lines in the teaser (each representing a member) we still have to wait for an official announcement from the agency. As a reminder, the latter was not present in WAYV’s last comeback with the 4th mini-album “PHANTOM” released on December 28th.
