KIM HYUNJOONG
On this Monday, February 27, we meet the artist KIM HYUN JOONG, former singer of the group SS501 who helped popularize K-pop in Asia during its debut in 2005. Today, the singer presents at a showcase held in Seoul his latest album, «MY SUN».
KIM HYUN JOONG first goes on stage for a photo shoot for the journalists in the room. He begins by thanking the people who made the trip as well as his fans who patiently waited for his return. It is with a big smile that he takes the pose in front of the cameras, just before the first clip of the showcase, «날 사랑하게 만든 거야» is broadcast. - « Hello my daddy », from some videos he may have seen on the SNS.
- « 날 사랑하게 만들 거야 », inspired by the loving and friendly feelings he felt when he was in his thirties.
- « 달과 태양과 당신의 노래 », that gives strength to the people listening to it during difficult times.
- « Take me home », inspired by the words of his father when he was young, his father being the personification of the sun.
- « My sun », title song of this album, which represents the three suns of his life: his father, his son, and his fans.
- « Shine », a song available only on the album, as a hidden song.
This is the third album by KIM HYUN JOONG, who demonstrated his hard work in the preparation of this album «MY SUN» by its varied themes. This album sounds very authentic and close to the singer who has collected subjects that are dear to him. We also note that this album is primarily focused on his paternal, and the concept of thanks, a strong message carried by this album. The presence of a hidden song is like a gift that he gives to the fans who will listen to his album to the end, to wish happiness to his fans, as if they received light in their life.

After this presentation, the singer briefly leaves the stage to prepare to give his last performance, «My sun», before closing the showcase. The music video of the song is first broadcast, with references to the space scattered here and there. The highlight of this song is the moment when he sings «sun» several times, increasing each time by an octave, proving the vocal abilities of the singer (which are no longer to be demonstrated after so many years of experience). We can also follow the paths of three people in the video, at different ages: young, mature, and old, undoubtedly recalling the three suns of his life.

KIM HYUN JOONG thanks again his fans who have been behind him for twelve years now, even when he did his mandatory military service several years ago. Thus, he is not afraid of not being able to achieve something, and even hopes to do a world tour to show how thanksfull he is in person to his fans all over the world. He also wants to participate in festivals, or any other opportunities that will allow him to be close to his fans.

He reaffirms his desire to continue to release albums, whatever his age, because for him, it’s the opportunity to have a trace of the strong events of his life and to say, “Ah, I had this state of mind at the time!” We can conclude that his songs are like a diary he writes throughout his life through his albums. He then talks about performing with a band, expressing his love for this type of live performance, which he has had since he was a teenager. He wants to be able to experience the genres of music he has loved for years.
He points out again that this came about as a result of the hard times he went through, especially because of the pandemic that impacted the entire world. It’s a moment he took to reflect on the last 2-3 years of his life, and this album is the conclusion. Although different people supported him, he wanted to highlight his «three suns», and that’s how this showcase ends, in humility and thanks. On 4 March, KIM HYUN JOONG will hold a comeback concert at YES24 Live Hall on/offline. He announces that the keyword of this concert is «free», and hopes to see many fans.
