NAM TAE HYUN
Singer NAM TAE HYUN, who was arrested by police for drunk driving, explained the accident and said it was different from what was known.
On March 10, his agency Noname Music stated, “NAM TAE HYUN had no intention of driving under the influence of alcohol. However, he said: I made a mistake without realizing it because that I asked him to move the car.“
The agency said, “After finishing a meeting with his acquaintances in Gangnam around 3:30 a.m. on March 8, NAM TAE HYUN first moved about 5 meters to park his vehicle by blocking the vehicles of his acquaintances, then waited for the driver. In the process, as Nam Tae-hyun opened the door of a parked vehicle, an accident occurred when NAM TAE HYUN‘s vehicle collided with the rear view mirror of a passing taxi.
“NAM TAE HYUN examined the damage caused by the taxi driver immediately after the collision and promised sufficient compensation for the damage. However, contrary to what some media are saying, NAM TAE HYUN did not drive dozens of meters after the collision with a taxi, but moved 5 meters at the farthest and parked again. There is no reason to make rash judgments for a while despite being drunk“, it added.
The agency said, “NAM TAE HYUN thinks deeply about his mistake, and then he will stand by the police investigation and be punished for his mistake.”

남태현은 2023. 3. 8. 새벽 3시 30분경 강남에서 지인들과 모임을 마친 후, 먼저 대리기사님의 출차를 기다리던 지인들의 차량을 가로막고 있는 자신의 차량을 약 5m쯤 이동하여 다시 주차한 뒤, 호출한 자차 대리기사님을 기다리려고 하였습니다. 이 과정에서 남태현이 주차된 차량의 문을 열던 중, 남태현의 차량과 지나가던 택시의 사이드미러가 부딪히는 사고가 발생하였습니다. 남태현은 충돌 직후 택시 기사님의 피해를 살피고 피해를 입으신 부분에 관하여 충분한 보상을 약속드렸습니다. 다만 일부 언론에서 보도한 것과는 달리, 남태현은 택시와 충돌 후 수십 미터를 운전한 것이 아닌 앞쪽으로 약 5m를 이동하여 다시 주차하였습니다. 음주 상태였음에도 불구하고 순간적으로 경솔한 판단을 한 점 변명의 여지가 없습니다.
남태현은 자신의 잘못을 깊게 반성하고 있으며, 이후 경찰 조사에 성실하게 임하여 잘못에 대한 처벌을 달게 받겠습니다. 모든 분들께 깊이 사죄드립니다.

The police investigation will have to determine the facts, with the various testimonies and declarations, as well as the use of the videos to rule on the clash which took place and to define the sanction to be taken or not.
