MONSTA X leader SHOWNU (real name: Son Hyun Woo) will host a live broadcast to commemorate his discharge from the military.

SHOWNU, who was diagnosed with retinal detachment in his left eye in the past and was deemed unfit for active duty due to surgery, entered Nonsan Training Center on July 22, 2021, a received basic military training and performed alternative military service as a social worker. SHOWNU, who was discharged from the military on April 21, became MONSTA X‘s first “military completion”.
SHOWNU said through his agency Starship Entertainment, “I sincerely thank MONBEBE (official fan club name) for waiting for me. It was a precious moment to reflect on myself offstage during this period. Especially, I really missed the time MONBEBE and the members spent together,” adding, “Because I missed the stage for a long time, I will try to come to you with various activities in the future, so I hope you’ll cheer me on and watch me.”
Additionally, SHOWNU will announce their first update to fans after being discharged from the military via a live stream of “대장 곰돌이의 컴백 WELCOME BACK SHOWNU LIVE” on MONSTA X‘s official YouTube channel at 7 p.m. KST today.
MONSTA X, which includes SHOWNU, is meeting fans through its own “몬 먹어도 고” content, which will be released every Tuesday at 10 p.m. KST, and will continue its most diverse activities.
