Boy group OMEGA X filed a lawsuit against the former CEO of Agency A and the YouTube channel “In Ji-woong K-pop idol trainer” (hereinafter referred to as the In Ji-woong channel).

OMEGA X‘s IPQ agency told EDaily media on Aug. 29, “We have filed a civil and criminal complaint against the CEO of Agency A on charges of defamation, business obstruction, forcible harassment and emotional abuse for unilateral reasons attributable to the Tripartite Agreement.” In addition, he said, “We have filed a criminal complaint against In Ji-woong Channel for defamation and obstruction of business due to the interim ban on broadcasting and spreading false information.”
OMEGA X is a group that debuted in June 2021. They have been unable to fully commit to their activities since late last year due to legal disputes with their former agency, Spire Entertainment. At that time, the members claimed to have experienced sexual harassment, verbal abuse, and assault from A, the agency’s representative, which caused a stir.
OMEGA X announced in May that it had decided to end the dispute with Spire Entertainment and terminate its exclusive contract. Since then, they have built a new nest within IPQ, a comprehensive IP production group that encompasses various content areas such as entertainment, webtoons, games and webdramas.
IPQ said in a statement distributed the same day, “In accordance with the law, Spire Entertainment’s verbal abuse and assaults have all been admitted to be true, and the members have subsequently agreed with Spire Entertainment to cancel the exclusive contract. and to transfer the intellectual property on the condition that they do not raise civil and criminal issues.“
It added, “However, Spire Entertainment filed a civil and criminal lawsuit in violation of the terms of the agreement, claiming that the trial had not even taken place.”
Additionally, IPQ expressed regret over In Ji-woong’s channel, which aroused suspicion, saying, “It reveals that there was no unlawful act or attempted moderation in the termination process. exclusive contract from Spire Entertainment and recruiting from IPQ.”
“OMEGA X has shown a legitimate and sincere appearance to protect the human rights of individuals who have collapsed due to continuous entertainment activities and repeated verbal abuse and assault, and revealed that they have not acted illegally to delay false appearances or achieve financial gain.“
Finally, IPQ said, “We will continue to pursue lawsuits without leniency based on clear and specific evidence and facts in this case, and we will strive to protect our OMEGA X artists and continue their activities smoothly.”
