KINGDOM
Gear up for the regal return of KINGDOM as it unveils its 7th mini-album, “History of Kingdom: Part Ⅶ. JAHAN“.

Today in Seoul, during a press showcase KINGDOM (Dann, Arthur, Mujin, Louis, Ivan, Hwon and Jahan) under GF Entertainment, did its comeback featuring its 7th mini-album, “History of Kingdom: Part Ⅶ. JAHAN“.
The epic “History of Kingdom“, divided into seven parts, narrates the journey of a king’s endeavor to mature into a true sovereign, supported by six monarchs from varied time eras. This album signifies the last chapter of the maiden season initiated over three years ago, spotlighting the story of JAHAN, in the “Kingdom of the Sun“.
Initiating the showcase was a detailed video introducing KINGDOM‘s diverse realms and their narratives, ensuring that attending journalists are well-acquainted. The host welcomed the press, introduced the comeback’s essence. Then, the members took the stage, introduced themselves, did a group photo session, trailed by individual member shots.
« We’ve poured immense energy into this concluding episode of the first season. We’re thankful for the journalists present today and seek your continuous support for our comeback. » – DANN
« I’m eager to start promoting this final episode. Thanks to the staff for their hard work and dedication for this comeback. » – JAHAN
The host explained that KINGDOM, which debuted in 2021, ranked among the top five on several American Amazon Music charts and successfully entered the top 10 of the US Billboard Chart’s “World Digital Song Sales” for the first time in two years.
He then elaborated that the new album will feature seven tracks: « Apocalypse (終末) », « Coup d’état » , « Love song » , « X-game » , « On my way » , « 모래성 » (« Sandcastle ») et « Coup d’état (instru) ».
The members stepped off the stage to get ready, while the official music video for “Coup d’état” played. Composed by ROHAN, YEZAN and FLUM3N, the song underscores the group’s distinct charisma. The visuals, directed by Johnny Bros, who has collaborated with KINGDOM since their debut, marked a milestone as the first video shot in India by a Korean boy group. The video is themed around the sun, depicting the seven members amidst desert landscapes and iconic Indian settings, representing the “Kingdom of the Sun“.
This is followed by the group’s very first performance of the song in front of the press. The choreography is powerful, marked by sharp and synchronized movements. The members execute each step with precision, showcasing their meticulous preparation.
It was time for the Q&A session with the press.
DANN shared that it had been a while since its last comeback (with the previous one being in March of the same year). He went on to say that they’re feeling more nervous than usual, but they are confident that the KINGMAKERs, the group’s fans, will appreciate this album. He emphasized the hard work they put into it.
« Our lead track, ‘Coup d’état‘, unveils a distinct and more masculine charm than what we usually showcase. » – DANN
HWON added that since “Coup d’etat” is set in the “Kingdom of the Sun“, the song conveys the warmth they want listeners to feel.
Responding to a journalist’s request, ARTHUR performed the song’s key dance sequence. The host remarked on the intensity of the choreography. In response, DANN stated, “It’s quite literally a coup d’état; it’s powerful.” eliciting some chuckles from the audience.
« We’re the first male Kpop group to have filmed in India, so this music video holds special significance for us. We wanted to showcase the Indian landscape that we truly admire. » – LOUIS
« We became aware of concerns related to our album covers through social media. We had overlooked it, and we sincerely apologize. KINGDOM will do its utmost to prevent such oversights in the future. We apologize to the Muslim community and our fans. » – DANN
DANN further added, « Living in Dubai, I became familiar with the Arab world and the Arabic language, but I didn’t have a detailed understanding of the Quran. Some of my Muslim friends reached out, explained the concerns, and I apologized. I regret it and believe I should’ve been more attentive during the album cover creation. I’m truly sorry. »
What might the concepts for the next season be?
« The second season is still under discussion. Our agency feels that with the conclusion of this first season, our debut has ended and a fresh start is on the horizon. » – LOUIS
DANN responded to a question about their international fans. “We weren’t aware that we had such a strong international following. During our tour, we were amazed to find fans singing along with us in Korean and dressing up as princes, princesses, kings, and queens. It was then we realized how much our fans cherished the kingdoms and royalty concept.“
“This chapter focuses on our youngest member, JAHAN. I want to emphasize that even amidst our busy schedules, he consistently worked out for a year. He has been preparing for a long time.” – LOUIS
And their final words: “We hope you’ll give this album all your support!” – IVAN
Following the release of its 6th mini-album “History of Kingdom: Part VI. Mujin” in March 2023, KINGDOM is back today with its 7th mini-album “History of Kingdom: Part Ⅶ. JAHAN” and its lead track “Coup d’état“.
Our reporter’s words: “I was thoroughly impressed with ‘Coup d’état‘, from the music and the music video’s theme to the choreography. It’s going straight to my playlist. I can’t wait to get my hands on this new album and listen to the other tracks!“
