SUPERKIND
Group SUPERKIND, with a unique concept, mixing virtual members SAEJIN and SEUNG and human members DAEMON, EUGENE, GEON, SIO and JDV, takes the time to answer our questions.
KSTATION TV was able to participate in a “roundtable” with the members of the group, thus being able to talk to them about different subjects alongside other journalists. And after a quick presentation, members DAEMON, SIO, JDV and EUGENE answered our questions.
Arriving in the kpop world with a very original concept, KSTATION TV was obliged to ask them
Q: “When you joined the band, did you know right away what the concept would be? Did you have any doubts?”
“Before our debut, we already knew that we were going to be part of AI Idol and we already knew that we were going to collaborate with AI (artificial intelligence) members. For my part, I loved virtual things like anime, and I’m also a big fan of Gorillaz which is a virtual group so I know the concept very well. Plus, I really wanted to try these things and was so excited to debut as an AI idol. So the answer is I was very excited and I’m happy to be part of this special team.” – DAEMON
The members of course talked about their comeback with the title “Moody”. This new album, with the 7 members present, is like a new beginning with the desire to present themselves to a wider audience thus allowing more fans to know them.
As for the MV which illustrates the title song, it has a very futuristic concept. Working with the members of NUKE, the word “futuristic” is a good keyword to describe as they challenge the sci-fi genre in the music video. In the MV, the NUKE members are the space police and the PRID members are space criminals, so there is a chase between these two parties. The members of NUKE try to integrate those of PRID into their team. And while trying to escape from them, they accidentally arrive on Earth. This is the main theme of the clip in which they now try to show more of the science fiction genre.
If you asked them what titles they would recommend to you in this new album, EUGENE and DAEMON will tell you “Mugshot”, because for one this song reflects that they are the pioneers in the work with “AI”. For the other, even if he loves this title, he decides to change and side with SIO and JDV by naming “Speed (2D)“, because it is a title with rock sounds that he greatly appreciates.
To finish by qualifying the album, DAEMON defines it in 3 words: “Beginning”, “Challenge” and “Hope”.
Looking ahead, in terms of music, the members of SUPERKIND say that the group’s motto is “diversity” and that they choose music based on the concepts and worldview they wish to give and transmit.
KSTATION TV ended its questions by asking the members how they view their concerts?
“We place great importance on in-person interactions with our fans, and that’s why we strive to organize concerts and events in as many countries and cities as possible.
