- Hello, could you please introduce yourself?
“Hello. I am a Korean artist named THE TOURIST (투어리스트), and I create music inspired by the various emotions felt during travels.”
- Can you tell us more about your new album?
“My new single, “이방인 (The Stranger)“, expresses the feeling of becoming a stranger in a familiar place after a separation, as if one becomes a stranger after losing someone they love.”
The lyrics of this album were written in collaboration with the author ZNEE, who has worked on albums for groups such as The Boyz, NCT Dream, and Yunho.
“ZNEE described these lyrics as expressing indescribable emotions, such as: ‘After losing something precious, the world remains unchanged like yesterday, but today, even though I am the master of my own world, it is filled with you, making me feel like a stranger.‘ I recommend paying special attention to the lyrics of the album!”
“The music video was produced in collaboration with the RGB Studio production team. It was our first collaboration with them, and they succeeded in capturing the emotions and atmosphere we wanted to convey through this song.”
“Actress Son Ye-seo perfectly understood and represented what we wanted to convey in this video, resulting in a result that I am very satisfied with and beyond our expectations. I want to thank Son Ye-seo, who did her best to participate in this project, despite the cold.”

- What is the main theme or concept of this single, and how does it differ from your previous works?
“The main theme of this song is loneliness and nostalgia. Until now, THE TOURIST (투어리스트)‘s music has mainly focused on warm and exciting emotions, with ‘bright’ songs. However, this song aims to express solitary and melancholic emotions, hence the change in musical style towards a more stripped-down acoustic sound.”
“This is the first song where I really tried to show a new side of THE TOURIST (투어리스트), and it is the musical direction I want to take in the future. I hope “이방인 (The Stranger)” will mark the beginning of a series of new songs to come.”
- What message do you want to convey to your fans through this album?
“I hope this song can comfort and touch those who feel loneliness and melancholy, feelings that everyone can experience at some point.”
- Finally, do you have a message for your fans, especially those from France and Europe?
“I am thrilled that THE TOURIST (투어리스트) has been introduced to many Europeans, especially the French, including through our previous collaboration with KFTV on a Korean cover of a French song. I hope to have the opportunity to create content with France and THE TOURIST (투어리스트) again in the future.”
