Controversy is expected after a public relations (PR) manager for Hybe reportedly told a working reporter that his label group NEWJEANS was manipulated by former CEO Min Heejin.
On September 25, CBS Radio’s “김현정의 뉴스쇼 (Kim Hyun Jung’s News Show)” aired a phone interview with 서울신문 (Litt: Seoul Newspaper) reporter Jang Hyung Woo.
“Of course, we have to correct the facts. However, it (Hybe’s request) was malicious,” Jang Hyung Woo said, revealing that he had received a request from PR Hybe to correct the article that smeared NEWJEANS’ performance in Japan.
Reporter Jang Hyung Woo then revealed:
“I asked how CEO Min Heejin, who had a stake of less than 20%, during the phone call at the time, could give herself the management rights. Then he (a PR manager of Hybe) told CEO Min Heejin that NEWJEANS members had been manipulated.”
In the meantime, Jang Hyung Woo has released the corresponding transcript. In fact, it was revealed that Hybe’s PR manager continued to make remarks such as
“Only the artist needs to be mentally manipulated.”
Hybe said on the show that ADOR’s PR is doing his best to promote the album. He has also been promoting his album.
