Global BL platform Heavenly will begin its exclusive broadcast of the web drama “Let free the curse of Taekwondo“.
“Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo” (directed by Hwang DaSeul, Power Production Studio, Energedic Company) tells the story of “JOO YOUNG (actor Lee Sun),” a taekwondo talent who dropped out of school after an accident, and “DOHOE (actor Kim Noorim), a model student who wants to escape his father’s violence, who first meet at the age of 18, break up due to a misunderstanding, and then reunite as adults.
“Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo,” which tells the story of first love and reunion after growing up by lovingly caring for each other’s wounds in youth and becoming adults, was officially invited to the “Mary Go Round” section of the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and made its film debut, and was recently invited to the Kaohsiung Film Festival in Taiwan, heralding global popularity.
Heavenly also revealed the points to watch when presenting the eight-episode “Let free the curse of Taekwondo.“
First of all, this work, set in 2005, perfectly reproduces the era when there were no smartphones, and conveys to viewers the romance of that era and the nostalgia for the past.
In addition, this work expresses the emotional line of the main character through the tension of Taekwondo, who closely competes with the opponent with bare hands and feet without any tools, capturing at the same time the story of his first love and the romance of his 30s.
“Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo” will delicately express hidden stories with the actors’ passionate performances and director Hwang DaSeul’s outstanding production, raising meaningful questions about love among viewers.
Meanwhile, the eight-part drama version of “Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo” will be exclusively revealed on the BL platform Heavenly on October 17.
