The song that NCT’s MARK and singer Lee Young Ji collaborated on has been revealed.
“MARK’s new song, “Fraktsiya (Feat. Lee Young-ji),” was released at 6 p.m. KST on various global music platforms,” his agency SM Entertainment said today. Additionally, you can check out the music video for the new song on the SMTOWN YouTube channel.
“Fraktsiya” is an impressive hip-hop song with a heavy 808 base and an intensely repeated synthesizer sound that unfolds over a house-style chord progression. MARK will add an element of British drill, a subgenre of hip-hop, to captivate listeners with unique charms and sharp rapping that have never been shown before.
MARK introduced the new song through his agency, “I started working with the idea that I was living in different ways while rethinking my position in K-pop,” and explained, “Lee Young Ji felt like she was a similar character to me, so I proposed this collaboration to her, and she happily responded.”
He then said, “I thought I would have my own unique ‘chemistry’ with Lee Young Ji, so I really wanted to do something with her, and I confirmed that this was not wrong with ‘Fraktsiya,’” and added, “I thank Lee Young Ji again.”
Finally, MARK stated, “I’m excited to finally release a new single, and I hope the fans who have been waiting will enjoy it,” adding, “I worked with Lee Young Ji happily and finished a great song, so I hope you enjoy listening to the hot “Fraktsiya” this winter and that the song will cheer everyone up.”
MARK, who has been an active member of NCT 127 and NCT DREAM, has shown his abilities as a musician by continuously performing songs with his own musical personality, including “Child,” “Golden Hour,” and “200.” He plans to release his first solo album this April.
