J-HOPE
BTS member J-HOPE has donated 100 million won to help victims of the Jeju Air plane crash.

Hope Bridge’s National Disaster Relief Association stated on January 2 that “J-HOPE has donated 100 million won (US$70,000). After hearing the news of the accident, we decided to donate to help the bereaved families a little,” J-hope said. “We express our deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the victims as well as everyone who is suffering from this accident.”
J-HOPE is a member of the Hope Bridge Honors Club, a group of high-value donors, and has participated in donations for flood damage in 2023.
Hope Bridge Secretary General Shin Hoon said, “We thank J-HOPE for his heart toward the bereaved families,” and added, “We will do our best to fully return the warm donations sent by J-HOPE to the bereaved families.”
According to the National Fire Agency and other rescue authorities, the flight Jeju Air’s 7C2216 hit the outer wall of the runway at 9:07 a.m. on the 29th of last month while attempting to land on the runway of Muan Airport. The accident killed 179 people, and 2 people survived (175 passengers and six crew members). Acting President Choi Sang Mok, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance, declared a period of national mourning until January 4. As a result, the entertainment industry is also continuing its commemorative atmosphere by canceling or postponing events. Other artists such as Park Narae and Lim Jiwan have also made donations.
