GOT7: “WELCOME HOME IGOT7”

GOT7 has been giving an update on its social media following its departure from JYP Entertainment.

On January 7, GOT7’s official accounts announced the relaunch of all GOT7 official channels with a welcome message saying, “Please show lots of love for the comeback of their new mini album, ‘WINTER HEPTAGON‘.“

As soon as the notice was posted, GOT7’s channel, which had been suspended in January 2021, began operating again. Since then, GOT7 leader JAY B posted on his personal channel,

“Sorry for the delay. We were a little late in organizing.”

GOT7 appeared in the entertainment industry in 2014 with the title track “Girls girls girls“, and gained huge popularity by performing a variety of music, including “A“, “Just right“, “Hard carry“, and “If you do“. However, in January 2021, GOT7 announced that the seven members would be going their own ways without renewing their contract with JYP Entertainment. After reaching the maximum expiration date of their exclusive contracts under the standard contract, called “the seven-year curse“, they decided to leave by going to different agencies. But GOT7 continued to mention its activities as a group and its strong commitment.

GOT7 transferred the trademark rights of the group name from JYP Entertainment, which allows them to use the existing group name. In addition, it took over all the rights to use the group’s trademark rights, which resulted in an unusual transfer of these rights. As a result, in 2022, the members of GOT7 released an album called “GOT7”, which contains a total of six songs, including the title song “Nanana”, as a gift to their fandom “IGOT7”, who have been waiting for their activities.

Since then, GOT7 has not had any group activities, but they will release their new album “WINTER HEPTAGON” on January 20 and will begin their activities as a whole after three years. This is an activity that was carried out with the members’ will and efforts to repay the love of fans to mark the 11th anniversary of their debut. They plan to continue their activities by releasing the album and holding concerts on February 1 and 2.
