WINNER - SONG MINHO
Rapper SONG MINHO defended his military service record during police questioning on Thursday, Korean media reported today.

According to media outlet SBS, SONG MINHO was summoned to Mapo Police Station in western Seoul for an investigation into allegations that he took excessive sick leave at the community center where he was assigned as a social worker and manipulated attendance records to cover up unexcused absences.
During the interrogation, which lasted about four hours, SONG MINHO insisted that he did not shirk his military duties. Police reviewed surveillance footage from the community center and questioned SONG MINHO‘s supervisor to determine whether he received special treatment compared to other social workers.
SONG MINHO, also known as MINO of the boy band WINNER, began his military service in March 2023 and was discharged on December 23, 2024.
Under Korean law, all able-bodied men are required to serve at least 18 months of military service. Those who fail the physical examination for active duty but are not seriously ill are assigned to 21-month alternative duties as welfare staff at public institutions such as subway stations and government offices.
SONG MINHO reportedly took sick leave on his last day of service.
The Military Manpower Administration launched an investigation last month, and Seoul Mayor Oh Sehoon also announced that the municipal government would review the attendance records of enlisted welfare staff.
