HYBE announced on April 2 that it would donate 1 billion won to the National Heritage Administration and the National Fund for Cultural Heritage to restore national heritage, which was recently damaged by the massive forest fires in Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk.

The funds will be used to repair and restore national heritage properties destroyed or damaged by the forest fires, as well as for environmental restoration. According to the National Heritage Administration, 33 national heritage properties were damaged, including the Gunsa Temple in Uiseong, currently designated a national cultural heritage.
“We express our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to all those affected by the forest fires. As a content company serving the cultural sector, we hope this will contribute to the restoration of national heritage,” HYBE said.
The National Trust for Cultural Heritage stated, “We thank HYBE for its assistance in restoring national heritage properties damaged by the forest fires and restoring their value,” adding, “We will make every effort to restore this value by accelerating the restoration process for damaged national heritage properties with the National Heritage Administration in the future.”
The National Trust for Cultural Heritage is a special corporation under the National Heritage Administration, established in 2007 to preserve, manage, and exploit cultural heritage.
