DNA Entertainment, GREATGUYS‘s agency announces the termination of the contracts of the 3 remaining members, thus signing the end of the group after nearly 8 years of existence.
This announcement, although surprising, comes a little over a year after the departure of 5 of the 8 members of the group and after almost 4 months without any activity on the group’s official networks.
GREATGUYS debuted in August 2017 with the song “Last men” and then had 9 members : JAEI, HORYEONG, HANEUL, DAUN, DONGHWI, DONGIN, HWALCHAN, UIYEON and BAEKGYEOL. Although little known and having suffered several disappointments during tours in Europe and the United States, the group had found its fans, the GRACEs, who remained loyal to them until the end.
Over the years the group has experienced several departures and hiatuses, the most notable being the hiatus and then the departure of JAEI in 2022, then the departure of HANEUL, DAUN, DONGIN, HWALCHAN and UIYEON in February 2024, then finally the departure to the army of BAEKGYEOL in December 2024. The youngest member is also the only one to have expressed himself on his networks concerning the end of their contract and calling for understanding from fans.
HORYEONG, DONGHWI and BAEKGYEOL, who were released from their exclusive contract with DNA Entertainment last August, have already created their own private platforms, including TikTok and Instagram. Now fully released from their contract with the agency, it remains to be seen what the members will do next. BAEKGYEOL has joined his comrades in the army, but HORYEONG and DONGHWI, having already completed their military service, have the freedom to do what they want. Perhaps they will follow in the footsteps of their former comrade Jinhyeon (HANEUL), who recently released his first solo single called “Sketch.”
All that remains is to wish all the former members of GREATGUYS the best, no matter what they do in the future, the fans will most certainly continue to give them love and support.
