K-pop agency JYP Entertainment has donated 300 million won (202,000 dollars) to help children in Myanmar affected by last month’s earthquake.

This donation was made to World Vision to provide emergency aid and medical care to children in 11 villages in Manadalay, the hardest hit by the earthquake. According to the agency, these villages will receive food, basic necessities, and childcare.
“We offer our deepest condolences to all those who lost their families and lives in the earthquake. We hope the children and their families can return to normal lives,” the agency stated.
JYP Entertainment has actively donated to those in need, particularly following natural disasters.
The agency, which houses girl groups TWICE and NMIXX, boy groups STRAY KIDS and KICKFLIP, among others, donated 500 million won to support pandemic relief efforts in 2020, 300 million won for forest fire relief in the Gangwon-do and North Gyeongsangnam-do regions, 500 million won for earthquake relief in Turkey and Syria, and 500 million won for the latest round of forest fires that erupted in the North Gyeongsangnam-do region last month.
The agency’s contributions to society are in line with its slogan “Every Dream Matters!“, abbreviated as EDM. JYP Entertainment launched its “EDM Healthcare Project” to help cover the medical costs of underage patients and their families in Mongolia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, the Philippines, Mexico, and Brazil.
According to the agency, the company has donated 5.15 billion won through its Korean headquarters and 48 million yen ($331,000) through its Japanese branch to a total of 3,167 children since 2020.
