Singer SOYOU has announced a new departure with Magic Strawberry Sound.
“We recently signed an exclusive contract with SOYOU,” Magic Strawberry Sound announced on April 25.
“As a vocalist and producer, we will provide her with our full support so that she can continue her performances in various fields and showcase her musical talent.”
SOYOU has been appreciated not only for the group, but also as a solo singer since her debut with SISTAR in 2010. Following the success of several drama soundtracks such as “구르미 그린 달빛,” “Goblin,” and “동백꽃 필 무렵,” her collaborations with various musicians have also allowed her to top major music charts in Korea and establish herself as a true musical powerhouse.
SOYOU, who elevates each song in her own right, is considered an “accomplished artist” who leaves a mark on her work rather than a record and resonates more than a sound. Her clear yet raspy timbre, at once, changes the flow of air and conveys an impression that is both light and profound. With her delicate expressiveness, SOYOU draws different emotional lines in her music, creating a three-dimensional effect.
She also possesses excellent production skills. SOYOU began writing the lyrics for the track “For you” from SISTAR’s 2017 album “GOODBYE” and expanded her career into production by including her own song “Tree” on her first solo mini album in 2022. Since then, SOYOU has also gained recognition as a producer, contributing to tracks such as “Farewell everyday,” “엄마의 엄마가 되어줄게요,” and “안녕, 나의 별,” which aired on Mnet’s music entertainment show “Karaoke VS.”
In addition to her musical activities, SOYOU connects with her fans through various content on her personal YouTube channel “소유기 SOYOUGI,” and also appears on MBC’s crime analysis show “Hidden Eye” to share her unique insights. Magic Strawberry Sound currently includes Song Sohee, Marrakesh, Ahn Dayoung, Yebit, Kona and Samui.
