The group I-DLE is enjoying worldwide success in preparation for its comeback.
On May 12th, the music video for “Girlfriend,” taken from the eighth mini album “WE ARE” (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua), simultaneously ranked first on both the Chinese QQ chart and the Korean chart. It also reached number one in Korea and the ninth most popular music video on YouTube, demonstrating the influence of the group about to return to activity.
The music video for “Girlfriend,” released on May 9th, attracted attention by ranking second on the “Most Viewed Videos in the Last 24 Hours” chart and third on the “Global Trending Music Videos” chart on YouTube. The music video also demonstrated its impact on the global music market by topping the YouTube charts in nine countries, including Korea, the United States, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Indonesia, Taipei, and Australia.
SOYEON’s self-composed song “Girlfriend” expresses the comfort of a friend who has gone through a breakup with childish colors. The members’ cheerful music and chorus are impressive. The music video attracted attention thanks to its sensual visual beauty and storyline, shot in Paris, France.
