WAVE TO EARTH
Let yourself be transported by the new wave embodied by WAVE TO EARTH!
After two concerts in April 2024, the band WAVE TO EARTH again concluded its European tour “0.03 Tour” in Paris on May 13th at the Zénith de la Villette. Invited by Livenation France, KSTATION TV had the honour of attending this last concert.
From the beginning of the concert, WAVE TO EARTH (DANIEL KIM, JOHN CHA, DONG Q) immersed us in its gentle and dreamy world with the tracks “Are you bored?“, “Play with earth!“, and “Peach eyes“. A unique atmosphere, both soothing and immersive, that stayed with us throughout the evening.
By blending sounds from jazz, rock, and folk, the members of WAVE TO EARTH, accompanied for the first time in Europe by JEONMIN, managed to create a timeless moment for this last concert while showcasing the full range of their musical talents. We were particularly impressed by DANIEL KIM‘s technical and captivating guitar solo which ensured the transition between the tracks “Beck” and “Slow dive“, as well as by DONG Q‘s impressive and powerful drum solo on the track “Pueblo (remastered 2024 version)“.
We were also marked by the energy of the audience. The fans cheered on the members throughout the evening and sang along, especially on “Homesick“, creating a unique and warm atmosphere within the Zénith de la Villette. The closeness between the band and the fans made us forget that it was, after all, a large Parisian venue. If we had to name just one moment of complicity between WAVE TO EARTH and the fans, it would be the “popopopo” from the audience at the end of the song “Love“. In response to these chants, the band members joined in by playing the rhythm of “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes, creating a moment that was both festive and intimate.
As the concert concluded, the band thanked its fans for their support and presence, while emphasising the importance that Paris represents to them. Before presenting its latest tracks, WAVE TO EARTH prepared a surprise for its French fans: an instrumental cover of Joe Dassin‘s “Champs-Élysées“. Sung in unison with the audience, this surprise created a touching moment of connection.
After transporting us with the songs “Light” and “Annie.“, the band returned to the stage for a final encore with “Wave“, followed by the highly anticipated “Seasons“, before closing its European tour in style with “Pink“.

Finally, we’ll remember the captivating softness of WAVE TO EARTH from this concert, as well as the dreamlike harmony the band creates live. A beautiful personal discovery, one that made us want to listen to them play again and again, even after the concert was over.
DANIEL KIM‘s vocals, coupled with JOHN CHA‘s bass, DONG Q‘s powerful drum rhythm, and JEONMIN‘s subtle saxophone, create a unique and comforting blend. Whether on your playlist or in live, WAVE TO EARTH will leave a lasting impression and immediately leave you wanting more.
Finally, WAVE TO EARTH will continue its tour on June 5th at the Blue Note in New York City, USA.
