Discover the group ONE PACT before its European tour “NEXT HORIZON“!
Two and a half years after its debut, ONE PACT announces its first European tour “NEXT HORIZON“! Stopping by Amsterdam, Paris, Warsaw, Cologne, Prague and Milan, the members of ONE PACT (JONGWOO, JAY CHANG, SEONGMIN, TAG, YEDAM) are determined to meet the European &HEARTS (fandom name). We had the pleasure of meeting them to discuss this first tour, but also their evolution and aspirations for the future.
- First of all, let’s start by talking about you! It will be your first time in Europe as ONE PACT, so can you each introduce yourselves and tell us a little anecdote about you?
TAG: I’m TAG, I produce songs for ONE PACT. As for my anecdote, I lived in Thailand for several years!
JAY: I’m Jay, I sing sometimes. It’s not my first time in Europe, but I’m bringing the other member of ONE PACT with me this time!
JONGWOO: I’m JONGWOO. I don’t have any particular anecdote… but I’m 25 years old! This made the other members laugh.
SEONGMIN: I’m SEONGMIN. I’m the vocal and I’m tall.
YEDAM: I’m YEDAM, I’m a pocket boy, I’m little tiny and cute!
- As we get to know each other, if you had to switch positions with another member, who would you choose?
JAY: I pick SEONGMIN. He is always bright on stage, and he has very great facial expressions. I wish I could do as well.
TAG: I’ll say JAY because he sings very well and I love his voice.
JONGWOO: Same as TAG, I choose JAY to sing like him.
SEONGMIN: Me too, I choose JAY!
YEDAM: For me, it’s TAG because he made the songs for ONE PACT, I wish I could do that too.
- As we mentioned, you’ll be starting the “NEXT HORIZON” tour in June. Are you excited? What are you most looking forward for this tour?
JAY: Yeah we are so excited!
TAG: I really want to see the Eiffel Tower and try a lot of food!
SEONGMIN: I’m really curious to see what can of vibe the European Fans have.
- How did the preparations go? Did you meet some challenges, and how did you overcome them as a group?
TAG: The preparations go pretty well. We are really excited to come up with new performances and stages that we have never presented. I think everyone is looking forward to the atmosphere in Europe.
JAY : We’re still in the preparation phase, I hope we won’t be stressed on the day. It’s our first big tour outside of Asia, so I’m sure we’ll face lots of new challenges, but so far, so good!
- Your fans are so excited to see you coming to Europe. What can they expect from your performances during this tour? Can you share a surprise with us?
JONGWOO: The European fans can be very excited to see a lot of stages that we have never done before.
TAG: JAY are going to work up hard, and maybe you will see his muscles…
JAY laughing: Ah, I didn’t know that.
SEONGMIN: I’m very excited to see our fans’ reaction, because even though we’ve already done some stages before, this would be our first time in Europe. But they certainly won’t be disappointed.
- This is also your first time in Paris as ONE PACT! Are there any places or foods in Paris that you dream of discovering?
JONGWOO: Oh yes! I’m really curious to try escargots, that will be my challenge in Paris.
YEDAM: I would like to taste ratatouille and escargots.
JAY: The first time I came, I tried the beef bourguignon, and it was great. This time I would like to visit the Louvre Museum.
TAG: Besides the Eiffel Tower, I want to try the baguette too!
- The most important question now… Have you already learned a few words in French like hello, thank you, I love you? Can you show us your skills?
TAG : “Bonjour !” (in English: hello)
YEDAM: I know the word “Nickel“ (in English: top)
JONGWOO: I don’t know any French words yet, but I’m going to study hard to talk to the fans.
SEONGMIN: I’m going to study hard for this moment too!
JAY: Last time I learned “Je t’aime” and “merci beaucoup” (in English: I love you and Thank you).
- Speaking of performing abroad, what’s your routine like when you’re on tour? Any rituals before going on stage?
JONGWOO: Before going on stage, I don’t eat, or just a little, to keep as much energy as possible.
JAY: I don’t do a lot of vocal warm-ups, but since I do a lot of speaking in concert, I drink a lot of water beforehand.
TAG: I’m working out for 3 hours, go jogging for a couple of hours to make sure my condition is great before the stage…
JEONGWOO laughing: He’s lying, that’s more of his dream.
TAG laughing: That’s right, I read just before going on stage.
- Also, what’s one essential item each of you always carries in your tour bag?
JONGWOO: Perfume, toothbrush, and my earphones, it’s very important!
SEONGMIN: The charger is very important too!
JAY & TAG: And underwear too.
YEDAM: And mouth spray!
Together: Yeah, it’s true!
- Now let’s talk about your career! You debuted as ONE PACT in 2023 with your first mini album “MOMENT”. It’s been almost two years already! How do you feel about the journey you’ve taken together so far? And what would be a dream you’d love to achieve as members of ONE PACT?
JONGWOO: At the beginning, there were specific things that I wanted to do. But now, after two years of being in this industry, you know, just being able to do what you love is enough and a privilege. So now, I want to keep doing better and better.
TAG: I just want to release good songs for the fans… And SEONGMIN just want to change hair colours often.
SEONGMIN laughing: That’s true.
YEDAM laughing: I want to get better at interviews.
- Over these two years, you’ve explored different musical styles. Is there a concept or genre you’d love to explore in a future album?
JAY: I want to try a horror, dark colors concept.
SEONGMIN: I want to try a sexy concept. We do a lot of different concepts, but we have never done a full sexy concept.
JONGWOO asked us during the interview about what kind of concept we wanted for them, we proposed a rock band concept.
TAG: Oh yeah, I want to try to do a band, it can be very cool to play live.
JAY: Yeah, true, I can play drums, YEDAM can play guitar…
SEONGMIN: I can play bass!
JONGWOO: I can play bass too!
JAY: I see you more as our main dancer.
TAG: I could be the leader, worthy of a conductor.
YEDAM laughing: You can play the castanets if you want TAG.
TAG: We can try beatbox too, it would be crazy. I didn’t see this concept a lot in K-pop.
- We are almost at the end of our interview. To get in the mood for your concert, can each of you recommend one of your songs?
SEONGMIN: “Loading“! It’s my favorite song, and it’s making me feel very sweet.
JONGWOO: My favorite is “Fxx off “. People are going to discover our performance on it for the first time, it’s really eye-catching and it has a really good impact… Or as we can say ONE PACT!
YEDAM: I will choose “Confession” because every time you listen to it, your heart will flutter.
TAG: I will say “As the last moment“. It’s my second favorite song from ONE PACT, my first is “Loading” like SEONGMIN. But I chose “As the last moment” because of the lyrics. When you listen to it, the song makes you revive a lot of memories.
JAY: I chose “Deserved” because I know that a lot of fans like it, and I really want to give them the chance to see this song in person.
- Finally, do you have a message for your European &HEARTS who are excited to meet you?
YEDAM: To all our Europeans &HEARTS, you must wait for a long time. But we are happy to finally be able to show you ONE PACT signatures and the stages that we have worked hard just for you
JONGWOO: I don’t know how many of you will show up. But to make up for all the time you were waiting for us, I want to make you forget about how many times you waited by showing you great performances.
TAG: I’m very excited to go to Europe and meet Europeans &HEARTS. We prepared a lot of stages, some new. We can promise you it will definitely be fun and make good memories together, so come join us!
JAY: The first time I went to Europe, it was such a beautiful time. Now I can bring ONE PACT to do such amazing performances for the crowds in Europe. I know how crazy guys can get. So we are making sure to give you a lot of energy, and we can wait to see you.
SEONGMIN: I’m very excited to meet you after such a long time. We can’t wait for this tour, and I’m sure you feel the same way. We will give everything to meet your expectations!
