BTS - RM, V
They’ve officially received their discharge orders!
BTS members RM and V have completed their military service and are finally back with their fans. RM appeared before reporters playing the saxophone, clearly thrilled to be discharged, while V caught attention with a big smile and a huge bouquet of flowers in hand.
On June 10, after being officially discharged from his unit in Gangwon Province, RM stood before the press and shared:
“Joining the military at a relatively older age wasn’t easy—it was tough and challenging. I realized that we’ve been able to thrive in our careers thanks to all the people protecting the country, both on the front lines and behind the scenes.”
He also delivered a heartfelt message to fans who waited for him during his time away:
“I want to thank ARMY (our fandom) for waiting. Now that I’m back in society, I’m ready to give it my all as RM of BTS.”
V, in turn, shared:
“Military service was a time for me to refocus both physically and mentally. I sincerely thank ARMY for waiting, and I can’t wait to see you all again soon. Just a little more patience, and I’ll return to the stage with amazing performances. In civilian life, I want to be a good person—someone you can admire.”
Both RM and V said that the thing they most look forward to doing now is getting back on stage. They stated:
“What we want most is to perform. We’ll work on a new album soon and return to the stage.”
RM even added with a touch of humor:
“No more going back to base—it’s time to return to the stage!” His playful remark brought smiles all around.
Finally, the two artists also shared a message for their fellow soldiers, superiors, and juniors still in service:
“Please stay safe, train carefully, and we hope you all return home in good health.”
After their discharge, RM and V headed to the HYBE headquarters to greet agency staff, followed by some personal time off.
RM and V have now completed their 18 months of mandatory military service. They enlisted in December 2023—RM served in the military band, while V was part of the military police.
With their return, four BTS members have now completed their military duties: JIN, J-HOPE, RM, and V. On June 11, JIMIN and JUNGKOOK will also be discharged, bringing the total to six. SUGA, who is fulfilling an alternative form of service, will finish on June 21—officially marking the end of BTS’s military hiatus.
