The virtual idol group PLAVE has stirred excitement for its very first Japanese single by revealing an emotional teaser that feels straight out of a coming-of-age film.

On June 9, PLAVE uploaded a spoiler video for its Japanese single “かくれんぼ (Kakurenbo)”, set to release on June 16, through its official YouTube channel.
The video showcases warm, nostalgic visuals: the inside of a Japanese train, a view of a sparkling blue sea, and a sunlit window. Playing in the background is a snippet of the new track, “かくれんぼ (Kakurenbo),” with a vibrant melody that brings a refreshing summer vibe.
Like a scene from a youth movie, the rhythmic guitar sounds and the sweet vocals of the PLAVE members blend together, evoking an emotional surge and raising fans’ anticipation.

In the previously released lyric posters, the members are seen posing inside a train at sunset. These posters are accompanied by poignant lines such as:
-
「君はまた何処へ行くのだろう」 (Where will you go again?)
-
「手を伸ばすほど遠ざかる」 (The more I reach out, the further you drift away)
-
「でも君は見つからない」 (But I still can’t find you)
-
「この声が届く頃に」 (By the time this voice reaches you)
-
「ずっと探しているよ」 (I’ve been searching for you all along)
These lines leave a strong impression of nostalgia and mystery.
The title of the Japanese single “かくれんぼ (Kakurenbo)” translates to “Hide and Seek“ (or “숨바꼭질” in Korean). With the official launch of their Japanese fan club, PLAVE is kicking off its activities in Japan and aims to connect more deeply with global fans through an expanded musical identity.

Composed of YEJUN, NOAH, BAMBI, EUNHO, and HAMIN, the virtual boy group PLAVE debuted in March 2023. Since then, they have quickly risen in popularity across Korea and Asia. In 2024, their second mini-album “ASTERUM 134-1” reached No. 1 in K-POP sales at HMV&BOOKS Japan, and the group recently made history as the first-ever virtual idol group to enter the Billboard Global 200 chart, showcasing their spectacular global growth.
